A world without legal guns

Something is going to happen. Any idea what?

A world without legal guns

The bush adminstration has tipped its hand on the neo conservative position on an armed citizenry:
http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=59674
Since "unrestricted' private ownership of guns clearly threatens the public safety, the 2nd Amendment can be interpreted to allow a variety of gun restrictions, according to the Bush administration.

The argument was delivered by U.S. Solicitor General Paul D. Clement in a brief filed with the U.S. Supreme Court in the ongoing arguments over the legality of a District of Columbia ban on handguns in homes, according to a report from the Los Angeles Times.

from a different site:
As the future unfolds the effort by Republicans and Democrats will continue to erode the ability ordinary citizens have to protect themselves from criminals. What is missing is the notion our founders had that citizens must also be able to protect themselves from their government. When the Republican administration makes a move on your firearms it is because they do not want people protecting themselves from unconstitutional government...

IMHO it's food for thought. Do we have a conflict with the Federal government brewing? This would have to be more than the current militia movements I would think. It may also be overblown and misunderstood, but if it is true, that the Repbulicrats want us disarmed, are they afraid of widespread grass roots rebellion developing in the future?

What I know:

1. Anti-gun gains the votes of the anti-gun liberals and many women who spend all day long watching television and being scared to death to be alone in their homes. (I'm a woman who is sitting at home right now--no stones please.)

2. George H. W. Bush resigned his life membership in the NRA shortly after leaving the White House over an NRA article calling some secret service agents "thugs."

3. The founding fathers of this (once-great) nation were subject to confiscation of their personal firearms and having British soldiers forcibly quartered in their homes.

4. In no way, shape or form was the second amendment meant to be only for the regulation of state militia, national army or local police forces. It was meant for each individual--male, female, young, old and the rest of us to be able to defend themselves not only from the local criminal content but their own government because said founding fathers HAD TO.

If the Republicans are advocating gun control, they are in trouble with much of the populace. There was a right-leaning government that advocated and succeeded in gun control--Nazi Germany.

Once the general populace is disarmed, they are easily controlled. Let us not be controlled, whether or not we own guns.

If I remember my history correctly Adolf Hitler disarmed the citizens of German for public safety, as did the Soviet Union, China Communist party and almost every dictator throughout history.
