We actually do pray here. How can we pray for you?

Hi All,

Asking for more prayer.....again. This time it is better news. This Sunday, our family will be out of town as my husband Rob candidates at an ABC church for a pastor position. I see this primarily as good news (it is a good church and Rob would be back in ministry) but there is still all of the stress that come along with change. Yesterday we told the kids about what was happening and they started crying -- not wanting to move, change schools, leave friends, etc. I'm looking forward to being in a new place, but dreading the actual transition process. Please continue to pray for discernment, both for ourselves and for the church. Please pray for our kids, our current congregation, the deluge of mixed emotions, all the details of moving, and anything else the Lord lays on your heart!

It is difficult to express the gratitude I feel in knowing that you all are praying for us. "Thank you" seems to simple and trite.

Thank you anyway.

Cindy

Transitions can be hard for all of us.

Praying for the church, your family and the schools and friends your kids have and may be leaving behind as well as the ones they might be going to. May any new school be a great one and may the kids (yours and the ones already there) become fast and long-time friends.

Well, it's official! First Baptist Church, Lima, OH voted this past Sunday to call us as a pastoral team -- Rob as senior pastor and me as a very part-time associate pastor. Now comes the not-so-fun part of telling our current congregation (although there were several people who knew this was a real possibility) and other friends, trying to sell a home in this market, packing, wrestling with moving companies, changing schools systems, transitioning out of the many volunteer activities (scouts, library, etc.) All this and Christmas too! Rob starts there in the new year and the kids and I will come a few weeks later as we wrap up things here. I am anticipating great things from God at our new church and am excited about the ministry opportunities ahead. Still, I'm very anxious about the changes and worried about all the details. Please continue to pray for us and for the congregations.

With thanks to God for all of you,

Cindy

Let me add my congratulations! May God bless you as you make this move. May He not only help you sell your current home, but find the right financing for your new one. May He bless both congregations as they adapt to the changes. May He lead your husband in this new phase of his ministry. May you all stay close to God and in His word. Just a thought--use this as an excuse to set aside as much of the things about this season that keep us busy and distracted as you can. (Of course, as you pointed out, it also comes with it's own busy-ness and distractions.) Accepting this gift from God of a new start seems like a good way of celebrating the gift of Himself at Bethlehem.

Congratulations to both of you! And Congratulations to your new church!

Prayers for the church you are leaving as they begin the chore of looking for a new pastor.

Also prayers for your children as they say good-bye to friends and prepare to make new ones.
