The Carpenter’s Journey: To The Cross and Beyond
by Sigmund Brouwer
c. 1997
A moment by moment look at the steps Jesus took from the hill overlooking Jerusalem to the cross. Brouwer did considerable research in order to maintain the historical and social integrity of the times. With scripture references in the sidebar, Brouwer retells the story of Jesus steps adding details that makes the story even more powerful.
This is my second time reading the book. The first time I intended to read a day every day but could only read a couple of pages before I found the need to stop and reflect. This book can really give you a new perspective on the last week of Christ.
To be fair, I don’t agree with every assertion in the book but it does lend to deep thought.
