Hi folks!
In October of 1999 I was sitting in a tree as the sun was coming up reading my Bible and praying ( I probably had a bow and maybe even some arrows, though I've been known to omit one or the other or both). As I was praying, I was overcome with the certainty that Al Gore would be our president.
Realizing the 'technicality' of the 99 election, it is conceivable that he was elected I suppose, but the fact is George Bush is the one who took the oath of office.
You all know me by now and so you know that I told everyone what I thought I knew. And of course there was a certain amount of egg on my face. But then that is not the first time I've gotten thing not quite right. (Please no stones. Contrition prevails)
Still it occurs to me that certain scenarios might yet produce that outcome. Hillary is beginning to lose ground to Obama. None of the dems are attracting much exuberance with the rank and file. Electability issues seem to be in the news confirming the drive by media is not enthralled with any, (though the Clinton News Network does seem to have cast their lot...surprise!)
All of which causes me to wonder aloud if the draft Gore campaign might actually be effective. Plus, by not being in the fray of the primaries, he might emerge relatively unscathed and ready to take on whoever the Republicans choose to follow on the ragged coat tails of Pres. Bush. Also he is not connected to the democratic House and Senate whose approval ratings indicate people are ready to dump the lot.
So my question is, who does he choose as his vice president? My guess is he looks to Obama. (Not a function of sitting in a tree, just a guess).
